Pits: Brutal Help
I'm in Arthes doing the Pits encounters and a couple of the Brutal difficulty ones just absolutely slaughtered me. Specifically, the super tank one and the 1 dmg/hit one. Getting less people in both of these feels insurmountably difficult. How am I supposed to win these fights?

The first time around I had a tank that held one Super Tank down while I poisoned and blocked off the other 2. I think that might work again and I just need to git gud.

But the 1dmg/hit encounter I have no idea. I've got a Spearman with Officer's Pilum (4 hits/atk) which seems great and I tried running an Archer Infantryman with Barrage like I did on Normal but it's just not even close.

There is no point trying to finish BRUTAL in the pits as you don't get anything for completing
all of the challenges. I managed to finish one thinking there would be a nice prize waiting
but NADA.....

It's weird to read. What do you mean there are no good prizes? You can see the whole list there. Without some prizes it's impossible to pass other pits.
Some of those challenges can literally be done just by running away. Im astonished that ppl truely have difficulty doing those challenges, they are all free if late game build is correct....

And regarding brutal challenges, their purpos is to get fame and items. Tehrefore there is a purpose

You can't always escape. The DLC is cleverly done. I only completed some of the quests by accident. I won't say it was easy for me.

it's not hard. take a character that often gives even a little dmg (ideally a ranger for me). and more important than armor is to have enough movement (there are traps that help you more than they hurt you, so use them).

For me key to 1hit-1dmg was high movement, push back and slowing. Kitted last 3 with my tank as I got sloppy but still finished it on a first try.
Tank+Archer(push back bow + slowing action)+Harpooner (With upgradable yellow spear that pushes back and applies slow)
Helmet, belt item and a weapon for a tank with push back could have helped too but I didn't need them at the end...

the 1hit - 1dmg can be done with some much things.

- Tanks for high "hp"
- bows with slowing oil for kiting
- pugilist to one shot every enemy
- spears and blocking path
- follow up attack oil

and thats just some. Sure there even more creative solutions.

then your late game build is wrong. There was not one single challenge i needed to restart and i didnt use one single item from the challenges.

Most effective is probably Assassins with throwing knives and the "throw a knife when using an ability" skill. Over 6 hits in a turn if you use it right. I've got 2 of those and 2 berserkers so that 1 hit/health challenge was piss easy.

In Artes, the squad was level 9. Archers, spearmen, and rangers worked. There were no particular difficulties, except for "after killing 2 rounds and dismissed). But in Tiltern, the boss Bayan killed my spearman, who didn't even make his turn. There, without Katar Yama, I don't know how to get through. In Tiltarn, my squad was level 10.:steamsad: ;))

It's weird to read. What do you mean there are no good prizes? You can see the whole list there. Without some prizes it's impossible to pass other pits.
The rewards are very bad, only 1 armor layer and 1 recipe is worth geting if you are not in the endgame already.
The brutal difficulty pits are a major waste of time. Also, these rewards are among the last

This is your opinion, but it does not coincide with mine. Perhaps you did not appreciate some of the items and helmets. It's just a pity that you can't take out the stamp without disassembling the helmet. I would give some of the medium helmets to the heavy warriors. But the updates are great. The only thing I did not try out is the two-handed sword, because I have a two-handed sword, I can't have two weapons (freed slave)

It depends. If you start from meta min\max point of view all you ever need is Cutthroat with 100% crit, highest +AG dagger, Faithless, Rod Left-Hand's Glove and Sentinel Lieutenant with Dagan's Tablature. Try building something around the things not other way around and you can find lots of fun builds...
