War Horse
The warhorse AI is asinine. I won't list all the other stupid things it has done, but in the last battle, with one enemy alive and all my mercs in great shape, the horse runs away from the last enemy and into a rockslide warning area. Squash, no more horse. This is just stupid. Let the player control the horse if that is the best ai you can manage.

thats what the leash or the Archers skill are for. if you want to use a thing more bad than a human merc do it at least with the things you need for it...

You need to get beast master on an archer.
15 will power on horse will let it survive those dumb moments, even used the horse ai to keep an enemy in a lightning bolt once

Very applicable. This collar can control ANY animal. Even Dracarys, if he was in the game and captured by the squad.:steamhappy:

The bacon bound collar lets you control the animal wearing it in battle.
Why you would want a warpony in the first place is beyond me, but if you use the collar, you don't need to worry about it doing stuff on it's own.

Wow, thanks guys. Had no idea there was a mechanic for this. Game is as clear as mud sometimes ;)
And here I was thinking archers were mostly useless

An archer skill allows you to control all the animals in a company : Beastmaster. :dwarven:

I take this opportunity to ask if in the case where a human and an animal are in a very very good relationship, can the human control this animal on the battlefield ?

Thanks for the answer. :dwarven:

I think there is, here too, something to rework on human/animal relations. An animal that has a very good relationship with a human could be considered as being trained by this human.

Archers are incredible useful.
- Level 2 Valorous Support gains 1 VP (Valor Point) when you end your turn next to an ally.
If you are adjacent to an ally you can't hit them, so get your archer movement speed.

- Level 3 Hunter: Recoil Shot knocks and enemy backwards and slows them for 1 (upgraded 2) round(s).
This allows you to prevent an enemy from engaging for 1-2 rounds, or to disengage an enemy from your ally.

- Level 4 Beast Mastery: Control all Animals (upgrade heals animals each round for 5%)

Late game, if you go for a critical hit build (it's easy to gain 100% crit chance)
(Respecialize at the brotherhood. Pick Valorous Victory lvl2, because you'll kill 1-2 enemies per turn.)
Level 4 Reinforced Arrows: increase critical damage by 35% and apply bleeding on crit.
Level 8 Easy Prey: increases damage by 30% against enemies with no one adjacent.
Level 10 Second Weapon for flexibility or Lone Wolf for more damage
Level 12 Class Specialization, if you want Beast Mastery and Reinforced arrows.
Otherwise Suppressive Fire to apply Bleeding and Slowdown to a large area. If you have the Aim skill, which doubles range for the next attack, you can target anywhere on the battlefield.

Please note the Skill that allows you to control animals is called Beast Mastery and the Archer's level 4 skill. NOT the level 3 Beastmaster class specialization!

Some people like the fact that uncontrolled animals use their valor skills for free.
A few bears with an infused collar (regain 10% health each round), that use their skills for free can be quite fun. Especially when they don't require food xD

All options are interesting, and the more options the better. I just think it's normal that a human who has a good relationship with an animal is most certainly also its master.
I just checked, I have two level 13 archers who have the "Beast Master" specialization (at level 5) which allows you to control all animals during a fight and heal 5% of their health.
The infused collar is a good option, which I placed on a level 12 cardinal mosquito (for fun), but I direct it on the battlefield (for safety, because it is weak) thanks to my "Beast Master" archer. :dwarven:

Yeah it's level 5. I looked it up on the wiki and that side is mostly outdated (apart from the weapon, map and tomb pages, which I updated ;) ).

I just started my game, the level 5 ability which allows to control animals is called "Beast Mastery". The level 3 class specialization is called "Beastmaster" and gives you a valor skill.

Edit: Personally I'd like an option which animals I want to control.
