I would say he is in fifth place, after the assassin, archer, warrior and swordsman.
For example, a berserker can deal as much damage to a boss as a fist fighter. He has a unique axe "Traitor's Axe" which always activates oils (specifically Unstable Oil and Bleeding oil), together with a certain shield. he will deal about 10 hits and manages to activate bleeding oil several times to kill any boss, even without using a feat.
8-10 a turn? How?
The Swordsman bravery skill is generally much stronger as it gives many units boosted crit and crit damage drastically increasing their lethality.
I agree. But Pugilists might be worth it to make some boss fights easier.
If I had to guess...
Max out crit and crit damage, Pirate Bow, Trophy of Legends (belt that lets you use your Basic Action [your weapon attack] twice per turn), and the Suppressive Fire Bravery skill.
Easy Prey (level 8, upgraded) and Lone Wolf (level 10) give a combined 60% bonus to damage. Reinforced Arrows (upgraded) gives 35% more critical damage, allowing you to easily reach +125% and higher critical damage - you can add another +30% critical damage by recruiting a Wrongdoer to your troop from the Outlaw faction. Altogether, from just these, you're looking at 4.1x your normal damage in modifiers.
Like this, the Pirate Bow's attack OHKOs a vast majority of things, and if it doesn't it'll apply Bleeding from the Reinforced Arrows level 5 passive which almost certainly will after the enemy takes their turn. Heck, even Suppressive Fire, with its comparatively low damage but huge area, will OHKO Light Armored enemies at the very least.
Add in food buffs, oils, maybe a damage buff from another unit, and whatever else you usually find yourself with, and I think you could easily kill medium armored units as well with even Suppressive Fire. Might need to leave heavy armored units to your Pirate Bow, though.
Hmm, I guess I have to get the Pirate Bow then. Is it better than the Warbow? And I don't have Trophy of Legends either. Remind me how to get it?
Level 10 your archer can learn the secondary weapon skill, which allows to equip two weapons and to switch between them on will during combat.
Some high level ship fights in Belerion are really crapmed, where your archer can hit 6+ enemies with the Pirate's bow. Double attack kills them, hunter shot takes care of the rest, Bravery skill + aim let's you shoot to the other side of the map and kill everything light and medium armored.
Some fights enemies line up and you can kill 3-4 with the Hunter's ability and aim. Use your base attack twice with pirate's bow to kill another 3-4.
Add the Bravery skill that deletes light armored enemies in a large area at that point and yeah, you are at 8+ kills a turn.
Thank you as always!
So I suppose the Archer Bravery is more useful than the Swordman Bravery for ship fights at least?
Okay, I guess it's the "Mortar" build from this guide:

The author also says either Pirates Bow or Ihrian Bow work fine. So maybe I don't need to go to the islands yet.
Yes, I love this shield. But it doesn't work for ranged though. So how is this relevant?
Wow, which Pits?
I know you meant Pits. But isn't there a Pits at every region basically? That's what I meant ;)
And that bonus looks insane!
