How do you kill Drombach Arena boss?
I went in with a team of level 12s, and it wasn't close. Do I need a Pugilist for this? I guess I can gear better and get 1 more level, but honestly I do not see what's going to change.

Relatedly, is Drombach region boss harder than the Arena boss? I might as well not even try if he is.

You need to carefully select a team of 4 companions. You need to choose one of them as a captain and at least one more as a lieutenant (better two lieutenants) in the camp. The lieutenant goes first and buffs the captain. The captain goes when there are no Valor Points. You need to carefully monitor the conditions of the audience. Your weapon must have the oil of courage. After winning one of the three duels, you can either repair the armor, or heal, or replenish the Valor Points in turn for each companion. In the squad, it is advisable to take companions with good armor and a strong attack on a single target.

Kill his allies first and try to avoid engaging him directly until they're all dead. He gets reinforcements so this may take awhile.
This is the right advice against Boss Drombach. He must be surrounded before being killed.

Sorry. Missed the entire "arena" word in the title... not enough coffee yet.

For the arena what his your lineup (the 4 mercs you choose and a rough weapon/oil overview), would be helpful information?

I hope now that it was answered in another post, you'll repair armor/health after each round.
If you can't find it I can post you a screenshot. ^^

I went in with Swordmaster, Destroyer, Cutthroat, and Hunter. All had upgradeable rare weapons that unique mercenary contracts drop, and I use Perforating Oil on all of them and Valour on Swordmaster and Cutthroat, and Critical Hit Oil on Destroyer and Hunter (placeholders - I don't know what to give them yet).

My other 4 that I could sub in are: Berserker, Fighter, Infantryman, and Executioner.

As for healing in Arenas, I am going to get to an Arena and see if what a poster told me works (or whether I am smart enough to find it! :)).

Well, Destroyer shouldn't need perforating oil, as the class has an ability to ignore 100% guard.
Fighter with Shield and Sword can bind the enemy tank and reduce guard to 0
Berserker should be able to kill some light armored.
I don't use Cutthroat I usually switch to assassin, but I guess it's preference.

Fighter level 12 can be used as riposte unit
Counter-attack
Hardcore Training, Master Opportunist (lvl 12 bonus skill)
Defensive Riposte
With a taunt you reduce enemy attack of opportunity damage to 0.
Give him brave oil, bleeding oil + concentrate and the anticogulant weapon stamp.

Any Ranger should use Brave Oil + Concentrate and i guess perforating
Instinctive Throw will deal tons of damage if you use your helmet stamp, aim, taunt, sprint, first aid.

Hunter needs perforating oil and brave oil or crit damage oil isn't bad

If your Berserker has Traitor's Axe i'd recommend Perforating oil + unstable oil.

But I guess your main problem was that you didn't use the heal/repair between fights. This would make the fights much easier for you.

You are right on the Destroyer; the Perforating Oil is just a bad habit, and I reflexively put it on everyone.

Yup; my Fighter is being used as a riposte build. I don't have Master Opportunist unlocked yet though; so I left my last skill blank for now.

Ranger also the same build you mention - except I don't have Aim. I forgot that I can spam that as well - even if I am not a ranged unit! ;)

So other than Destroyer you don't seem to have issues with my builds. But you think Berserker should replace Swordmaster? The reason I have the Swordmaster in there is because he's Captain, and he's got Exhort - which is a massive group buff that I rely on overmuch.

My usual line up is a Fighter to engage the tank and boss and remove guard, assassin, hunter to deal damage and berserker/executioner depending on enemy positions.

I guess a Destroyer can do the same as a fighter and depending on your swordmasters damage output he can replace the berserker.

Got it. Also, I don't have access yet to a lot of stuff you mention - e.g. Bleeding Oil, Unstable Oil, Anticoagulant Stamp, etc. And of course weapons like Traitor Axe. I guess all I've done is level ;) I am beginning to do regional bosses and tombs though.

By the way, you can't change your Captain at this stage, right?

Okay, Bleeding Oil you get from Purifiers in Drombach or Grinmeer. The latter is easier, they are north of the main road. Brave Oil is in the Goosenberg Apothecary (Grinmeer).
Unstable oil is the end of the Fate of Ludern quest line. (can be left for later)

Anticoagulant Stamp you get from fighting the Legion (arthes has them running around, assassination quests for "Assassinate [Something something] Battalion"
With a Master Tinkerer you disassemble their medium helmets.

You should be, if you open the character in camp you'll see 2 cogwheels in the bottom right of the character model screen. Name new Captain for 50 Influence. Lieutenants cost 100.

Thanks. I did get the Brave's Oil way early. But I didn't know where to get the others. Is this info on Wiki?

The oils yes, stamps, kinda. I only started to write down what the assassination quests are called after writing the stamps article ^^.
