Question: Banner titles

I know Banner can be activated for x influence for a temporary bonus that lasts only until next rest, and only if officer is assigned to it in camp (right?).

Question: What about the passive "titles" that you get for achieving certain milestones. Are these title bonuses always applied automatically, or do you need the banner in camp to activate it, or do you need officer working the banner for them to be active?

The (passive) banner titles are always active. The ones you have, are listed on your banner. No need to have someone on the banner unless you like the visuals on the world map.

Over time. With (total) influence accumulated you'll unlock a captain, then a lieutenant, then the banner. Yes you can spend your influence, it's the total not the unspent.
