Leave your squad to manage the tavern, and send one (archer?) who can resist 2-3 opponents for resources. The most interesting thing in this game is the battles, even if there is a lot of money. And so, your lonely warrior upgrades himself as a miner and trades, and when he becomes a master, he is already a fisherman, etc. And then he will teach the others (skill in the reference book)
Suppose, my issue is I immediately employed 4 thieves and a musician + 2 cooks, takes all my party and all the recruitable civvies xd
Under Tavern Management, you can exchange copper coins for krowns. When you prepare a Specialty dish at your tavern (only one kind can be served at a time), one serving is set aside and sent to your inventory for your troops.
One thing I dislike about having civilians as staff at your tavern is that there's no way to rename them at the moment. At least if you use your own companions as tavern staff, you can rename them and switch freely between the professions.
I had money, in my pocket, and my mercs were veterans, a lot of the game was opened up.
I actually really like having the tavern straight away with a fresh game. I play on extreme so the extra food and passive income helps take some of the initial pressure off.
