You'll see in the top right of each icon a beer. Clicking this allows you to use the knowledge for 300 influence and an alcoholic beverage.
I think you can chose the one you remove, and the drinking buddy gets one removed at random.
Maniac is included, that was the first one I removed with this skill. The other one was stupid (-5% xp gained)
Can someone please confirm which traits are removable and which ones are not?
Someone who looks into the code can give you a more comprehensive list.
I know that the following traits ARE removable with drinking buddies:
- Grumpy
- Unlucky
- Snorer
and the following traits are NOT removable (or at least don't fulfill the condition of having a drink):
- Drunkard
- Someone else mentioned Hemophiliac and Maniac.
The description does say "personality" traits, so it could be intended to be a subset of negative traits (or just lazy coding).
You do not get to choose which negative trait is removed - it is random.
Weird part is, I have a Grumpy and Depressed guy, who has drinking buddies option and it still is shown as "no negative trait".
Looks then like the feature is broken, or working some other way in recent builds
You need 2 mercs, each having a removable bad trait and being best friends.
Just was assuming one merc could be 'cured' that way. Thank you
Initially, I was apprehensive about having any of my characters receive negative traits.
Eventually, I realized that getting relatively harmless negative traits can be a GOOD thing, because they provide the opportunity to get rid of other negative traits (since the Drinking Buddy trait removal needs to be paired).
