Fragments of a small item
So I got this through the stone at the camp, it says it can be studied by a scholar. I dont know how to do this, and there is still no tutorial since my post this morning :)

You'll eventually unlock the Scholar profession and corresponding camp item. You'll then be able to set the item and a scholar to the table to turn it (after a few rests) into an item that sells for a handful of Krowns. The higher quality fragments are worth more, and the legendary quality fragments turn into something special.

I have the scholar profession, that's how I got the item in the first place.
I googled and I guess I need to unlock the lantern.

This.
Antiques take like 4 rests usually and are mostly cosmetics to sell.
Completed tombs however give you very powerful and legendary weapons from the lectern.

Anyone know how to highten the chance of getting one? I've rested 6 times in a row with a monolith and my experienced scholar haven't found squat (and yes, I make sure he's ON the monolith)

It's very in my experience to get one of these from a monolith, certainly way more than a one in six chance
