Pirates of Belerion Observations and Questions
First I am looking forward to the seafaring version of Wartales. That being said why are your crew camping on the deck? Haven't you ever heard of galleys, messdeck, berthing, sickbay, the hold, the captain's cabin etc... You can make these things like various taverns and shops on land and assign crew to them from a roster. For example you can have the strategy table in the captain's cabin , the galley in the crews mess and have your cook slaving over a hot kettle etc... Keep the camping gear in the hold where it belongs with all the other cargo till you need it. Thanks

I want to know why they don't mention the new class. It's in the Roadmap for the DLC, but the announcement and Steam page for the DLC seem to ignore it completely.

Everything is correct. No galleys, no holds or captain's cabins are needed. This will complicate the location. Haven't you noticed that this era is before firearms? There are archers standing on the deck. Actually, according to the idea of sea piracy, there should be either Viking drakars or galleys or triremes. But they have too little room to maneuver.

waiting for someone to start whining about medieval sail ships being big and wide as aircraft carriers and how inaccurate this is

:steammocking:Well, actually, the game doesn’t completely copy history. Pirates of Balerion - it seems in "Games of Thrones" there was a similar region. But even for lovers of historical accuracy, you can show a Carthaginian or Roman warship. Moreover, the Chinese sailors had such huge ships that even housed working vegetable gardens. The aircraft carriers there were just the right size.

I mean, Cogs (the workhorse of medieval maritime) were fairly broad, as we’re some of the later longships built for troop movement. Buusses (pronounced byu-ses I think, and spelling may be wrong) were massive. Honestly i wonder if thats where we got the word “bus.”

Cogs were generally about 5 to 8 meters wide give or take. Looking at the screenshots on the dlc page the ships could do with probably a 33% to 50% scaledown as they look about double or more that across.
