Its alright. I'm still not really sure where it fits in yet though. The multiple attacks are nice, but the katar I have gotten so far are not special.
I like Wrestler so far, because Takedown has a lot of position manipulation. I do think there might be a bug as it offers no stat bonus though, not sure if its intentional.
Slayer is also interesting because of the amount of debuffs it can drop on a target if your warband is built for that strategy.
Wrestler plays as a crowd control support
Bruiser is straight up single target damage
Slayer plays like ranger glass cannon.
There should also be a 4th unlockable subclass.
You get it from the quest Eternal Glory
Complete Belerion arena then go to Terq and head to Cutthroat Tavern and speak to the Ailean the Gladiator
The outlaw katar is great for most of the game - the attack stance has two hits that each apply poison. The defense stance gives you an extra attack per debuff type on the enemy. The defense stance attack is absurd against bosses who can have 10+ active debuffs if you prioritize it.
Otherwise, they are so far just OK. 3/4 a tank class, 3/4 a dps class. Kinda like the swordsman class, but can't tank as consistently due to medium armor, but can output some great single target damage while being OK in a pinch to tank a few hits if built for it.
Put 30% extra damage debuff on the enemy leader, then finish him with a backstab from a Cutthroat. OP in any difficulty and I really don't know why to play any of the other specs.
1) if you have 40 guard it turns it into 80, so you have the same defense as tanks with shields around lvl 10+
2) Pugilist has is a Dex class, and so has a high crit chance, but not crit dmg, as opposed to Str characters, which have high crit dmg but low crit chance. Bruiser's attack stance fixes it.
For that it really does not matter which subclass you use. I prefer the Bruiser, specifically because it does not change position like the Wrestler and has Medium armor. The Bully is fine as well. Chances are the knockback will not matter, though.
