Can't equip helmets on some characters, I don't know why. Help?
Love the game but I hate that it isn't clear about what can use a pj or what not. Some characters can use a helmet and others don't. The same goes with shields, o some weapons. Is there some section / tutorial in game telling how this mechanic works? thanks!

Not that I know of but short version is, look above the character model in the inventory screen, if you see a shield symbol, Brutes, Swordsmen, and Warriors by default, they can use a shield, next to that is the type of weapon they can use, sword, axe, etc.

Here's a short list, all weapons include their two-handed versions
Archer - Bows
Brute - Maces, Clubs, Hammers, Shield
Ranger - Daggers
Spearman - Any Polearm (pitchfork, spear, halberd, etc.)
Swordsman - Swords, Shield
Warrior - Axes, Shield

Light, Medium, and Heavy armor is restricted to specific sub-classes, you can see which by going to the level up screens for the characters. Archer and Ranger sub-classes are limited to light armor, Spearmen to medium. A character can wear any armor equal to or lighter than their heaviest one. For example if the character can wear heavy they can wear medium or light as well.

I'm happy to look up anything specific you want to know.

For armor restrictions you have :

-Level : the armor tooltips tell you the minimum character level.

-Class armors, heavy > medium > light
(defined by your class specialisation (ie : swordmaster, fighter, protector... stuff like that), wearable armors are as follow :

-Heavy : heavy, medium light
-Medium : medium light
-Light : light)

For shields, right now only swordman, brute, warrior. And a lot recruitable prisonners but that a long list.

Weapons :

-Swordman : sword
-Brute : hammer
-Warrior : axe
-Ranger : dagger
-Archer : bow
-Spearman : spear
-Pugilist : Brawling weapon

At 1st its confusing, we've all been there lol

The more you play the more you will figure out and get comfortable with.

When your just starting out and storage is limited do your best. Later when you have basically unlimited storage AND can break down { master tinkerer } stuff start looking into helmet " tags " its the skill attached TO the helmet, later you can take those off and put on other helmets.

something to keep in mind but not to stress about, just play and have fun

Thanks for your answer! but I'm still thinking about the helmet since it doesn't say nothing like "light armor", etc. It will take just to keep playing as I see. Thank you for clear me this.

If you hover over the helmet in inventory it'll say at the bottom of the tooltip if it's light, medium, or heavy. If it doesn't then anyone can wear it, however at the top of the tooltip it'll have a Level number, your character has to be one level below that number, or higher, to wear it.

I'm going to guess the characters that can't wear it fail to meet one of those two requirements or both.

Some characters get Light Armor or better at level 2, while others get it at level 3. Any Armor skill this way allows for Light Helmet
