There was a discount for the week of launch, and it ended on the 21st December.

Which is fair as for the first week there were a couple of bugs around that are all now pretty much sorted.


It will probably go on sale again.

Most people are very happy with this DLC. I think Steam reviews have a negative bias because unhappy people are more likely to write a review that happy ones who are still just playing the game.

Dont get me wrong, Im very satisfied with this game and its one of my favorites ever... its their decisions regarding when to launch the DLC (clearly not tested properly) and for how much that i personally found annoying... not to mention the fact that as soon as the winter sale started they removed the small discount they had. Why i wonder...

If they'd delayed it another week, they still may not have found ALL the bugs pre-launch, and it would have been perilously close to Christmas break.

By sticking to the plan, even if things were not 100% perfect, they've got it out at a good time for sales, with enough time in the week that followed to crush the remaining bugs before everyone goes on holiday.

I was initially sceptical on the timing too but in hindsight, I think they made the best timing decision they possibly could have.

i guess you are right about the Christmas break, everyone needs holidays but what about their pricing decisions? Why not in discount anymore (dlc speaking) and also dont you think their price is a bit too high?

Well it was discounted when I bought it, as it was on sale for the first week. I expect it will go on sale again in the future.

For the amount of content in the expansion I think the price is fairly reasonable.

well its pointless to wait for anything here, did you know they trying to sell this game already for 2years with -20 and -25% discount (if Hogwarts released this year already half a price now), but now everyone can play Wartales on Xbox game pass for FREE, coz 1$ for a month sub what i got with 100+ other games then i dont know how much 1game cost, but of course not that price for which they trying to scam steam users and i hate scammers, Also they don't open America, everything already was in Bannerlord {which btw now also with better -40% discount and -33 Epic coupon) and i even dont want to write how many those turn based tactical combat timewasters (starting from Heroes of M&M 3) you can find in the store for a much better price, so dont wait (no one will wait 2years to save ♥♥♥♥♥♥ 5$ on a biggest sale of a year in steam) and dont pay them a cent and dont worry they already got money from Microsoft

Honestly, I didn't mind the price for this DLC. The developer has been updating the game frequently with new content since launch. There was also a lot of stuff that was originally on the road map to be part of the DLC, but then in the road map update, they made it part of the free update that would coincide with the DLC.

I have no complaint about price, but the problem is the new DLC is even harder then the already difficult regular game. They introduced new complex mechanics, new enemies with poison and fire spam... I didn't enjoy it and I regret buying it.

(The base game has 5 major regions, and I heard that the DLC only has 1 major region?)
