Xbox and PC GamePass crossplay

I'm trying to find some info as to whether or not someone on Steam can play co-op with another player who has Wartales through the Windows/Xbox Store. I know that the console and windows versions are compatible with the Xbox, but playing the game through the Windows Store, can I play cooperatively with someone who has it on Steam?

Just tried and it shows us joining each other and then immediately kicks us out. So idk

Just tried to play with my friends via crossplay. It didn't work as it's supposed to. I couldn't join my friends who play this game on xbox which is a total bummer. Hopefully it will be fixed sooner or later.

I'd really like to know about it as well, some friends want to try it but one has a lot of discounts in the window store and will probably get it there. Is crossplay co-op possible? Can we have some kind of official answer?

I'll second that, I bought it on steam at release and now I want to play with a friend who has game pass.

Any update on this? I can't join via gamepass on PC, or in the Steam version with my xbox friends.
