Caravan attack way too punishing.

I tried attacking caravan just for fun and to check how it is compared to Battle Brothers. Initial suspicion was like 50-75 which I thought is nice. After beating merchants I got charged for every item I took which scyrocket suspicion to lvl 2. At this lvl already I had plenty of patrollers. One was fast and cought me. After fighting couple of turns I realised it's gonna be hard to win as there was a lot of them. During escape they got one of my top companions and Suspicion raised to 3 stars. Theres tons of them now patrolling. I can't imagine how it is on 5 stars. Also now sure how to get my dude back. They dont seem to put him in jail just walk around with him.

Because of the +25% dmg bonus from the back, i'm always 5stars suspicion. The trick is to have move speed bonus from food, and place ropes in every strategic place to escape from the patrols.
The merchants are the best way to have high lvl ponies, they lvl up very slowly.

Damn actually ropes are neat trick. I carry so many yet forgot to use them

In ropes i meant pytons. 1 rope 1 iron to craft if i remember. You can buy some to mechants (or steal them i've understood you like it hehe)

Remember also, to hide in forests, not in open plains. The guards rarely enters into the forests by themselves and if you have properly skill for movement on forest during being wanted (on crime & chaos path), you can negate movement penalty on forests.

Sure, you'll still can be attacked in forests, but at least you'll be not have constant 10% chance to being ambushed by guards while resting on forests.

PS. Attacking golden caravan merchant are more punishing than normal (if you win and grab all loot, which those caravans was have)
And unlike in Battle Brothers (for now) you'll be not punished with reputation lost on city, if you decide to attack merchant caravan.

Two places where patrols go into forest (there are others but these can surprise you) : the forest just NW to Marheim (be careful when you cross the bridge), and the forest south the border post between Tiltren and Vertruse, going to the west

Can we rope the ponys and take our party? Is there any carrying pony(idk it is correct but not the war pony one) to take from merchants?

Once you catch a pony from merchants, you chose what you want to do with them. You're free to spec them and spend their attribute points like you want.
But as ennemis are 1-2lvl stronger than you, in case of merchants it is the same so their ponies will have higher lvl then yours.

Yes like all animals you catch. So even if they are battle ponies when you fight mechants, after the battle you can chose their spec.

Oh ok. I playin adaptive so every party member makes enemy party bigger too so i never try to have war animal.

War ponies are ok but lvl11 with the best armor. Before they are squichy. They can fix an archer, even tank a ranger, and the speed buff can be useful.
