Why let them flee?
What is the benefit of letting enemies flee? Saved time? Because the more you kill the more items you can get and presumably more experience too.

Just incase something goes wrong like you can lose a companion the same turn would you take the risk of not being able to save your companion as to killing the last enemy or 2, but then i realized there was an achievement to let them go too so guess that's a reason why too.

if the own team is to beaten up themself, also in the crypts i let the enemy run, pain in the ass to wait for them to crawl out of the darkness, specialy because they normaly ever get a hit when they do so, means more repair cost.

Also, you get points in the power and glory unlock tree for letting enemies flee.

Don't you also get points in another for never letting them flee?

All the above. 1) save time, 2) avoid potential additional damage 3) points in company skill tree.

Mercs close to death would be one.

Erm, no? I've never seen that before.

Also, letting them flee ups your achievement towards one of the four paths.

TBH I let them flee every time unless I was explicitly hunting for food and fur. You don't seem to miss any real amount of XP(if any at all, it's hard to test stuff like this), and it's faster. Not to mention extra injuries or repairs that might be needed afterwards.

Mostly, unless I get ambushed, in which case, there will be no survivors!

@funk there is unscrupeled or whatever it will translate into english, it gives you indeed rewards for slaughter all.
@Proven, you miss the part where more death/captured enemys (and only that, not runaways) gives more loot. for me a vital part, specialy against wildlife, so i can get food items and ghost leather.

Only benefit is getting out of a grindy fight early. There *is* something in Power and Glory where you rank it up every 10 enemies you let flee, but otherwise...Yeah.

I wont say hate, because Its a strong word. But I do feel its quite dumb to have that ''let x enemies flee'' instead of ''win x battles without letting enemies flee''.

Because its about glory, for gods sake. We need something to motivate us to go all the way, to kill everyone. For me, right now, makes zero sense having that way ''let enemies flee''. So counter-intuitive, specially because we lose loot and experience doing it.
Showing real power is to break their spirit and forcing them to flee, anyone can murder everything on the map.

Power? I am not sure... no. Maybe, authority? Yes.. I could see that. There are different perspectives, thats for sure. Still, its counter-intuitive as how the mechanics currently work.
