As far as I know you can capture anyone you fight against. I managed to enslave a few story quest characters who I'm trying to convert in my save.
I did notice however that since they were not criminals I couldn't sell them to the jail.
As for animals, are there any limitations?
Thanks! Are prisoners worth investing into hiring them?
My favorites are Criminals and Zealots. I love their Passives. But the low level ones are kinda meh. I suggest if you want some good convertible prisoners, try levelling up first where you can manage to battle groups of lvl14 ones, They're already max. Investing some influence in career paths will make these secondary units a good part of your team.
Do captured enemies have any unlockable skills that are not listed in their skill tree? My boar got a new skill on level 5, and I now suppose that I have underestimated prisoners as potential recruits.
Haven't tried all the factions but at least in Tiltren you can sell the outlaws and deserters (chain icon instead of the bandit) to the prison. Refugees have to be sold at the above mentioned location.
How do you unlock that? The person north ot Stormkapp just keeps acting coy about it being just a regular old mill.
You need to get into the basement.. That starts that story line.
