Resting at camp to build relationships
I put the 2 same companions and rested over 20 times but only ever gone up once, can someone confirm? I even got the best friends in the same activity buff but stuck at +3

+3 is max relationship I believe. You can get a dialogue option to marry someone, and they'll get the "couple" trait, but that has no impact on anything that I could find. No idea what triggers that dialogue option.

The most reliable way to build relationship is combat I've found. Using an ability that gives bonuses to everyone within a certain range will boost relations between the one using the ability and those getting the benefits. Giving each other the "supported" trait also helps, as does killing an enemy engaged with a friend. Friendly fire tanks it quickly.

AHHH ok, cause I saw the couple thing and I thought mine bugged out, was so frustrated cause got 2 other companions to +3 but no further... thanks! Please let me know when you find out how to trigger that dialogue option!

As far as I could tell the dialogue option for marriage is random, the only requirement being that 2 of your mercs must love each other (ie be at level +3 relationship with each other). I had the marriage option twice in my last EA playthrough (both times it was between men), and there was nothing special I did to get it. They weren't close to each other in camp or anything. Pretty sure its just luck-based RNG.

Troubleshooter abandoned shooter handled relationships so much better.

Sometimes I think devs added to much stuff into wartales as most comes off mediocre instead of focusing on a couple key features and making them great

Yes, I concur. Combat seems to be best method to intentionally build or deteriote relationships.

My biggest complaint is so many things feel RNG based, like most games you get to buy a item where you can trigger such events at varying thresholds, would have been good to give players some control.

Also crafting.... feels kinda meh for blacksmithing, woulda been nice to be able to craft 1 purple gear for each type with quest chains at the various zones... Im thinking frozen shadoweave from burning crusade
