Been enjoying games for the last 27 years and I firmly believe you can somewhat feel what priorities or goals devs have due to their socio-cultural background and artistic vision - in the same vein as you noticed a distinction between French Cinema and Hollywood for example.
Also Euro-Jank is term tossed around by a bunch of American game pundits a lot of the time. I do not find the term appealing but can clearly see why it was coined. May apply even here somewhat.
I give the game credit though, that it took me, and I consider myself quite the "connoisseur" about a 100h to figure out the game is indeed by a France based developer.
