How is multiplayer?
I am loving the sandbox nature of the game and would love to get friends to play it with me, but I'd like to hear any others' experience with playing with friends.

It's fun but the inability to allow players to drop in or out makes it impossible to play with more than a duo, unfortunately. This game has very archaic co-op. You MUST start the game with the player(s) you intend to play with and they MUST be present the whole time. There is no leaving or joining in progress which is almost a killer for the multiplayer in the game. If you were planning to play with more than a single friend I think you should reconsider.
Wait, is there no multiplayer saves? If I start with a friend, then do we need to start a new game every time we play, there's no progression?

There are saves. He means that the friends you start the game with, MUST be present at the time you load the save. If you start a 3-player multiplayer game, you can't play the next day with 1 person missing. All 3 players must be available any time that save is loaded. Likewise you can't decide to have a 4th player join in on the save, instead all 4 players would have to start a new game.
