Seems like a solid 2x jump in difficulty. I am surrounded with places I will not survive as I am sitting L5-L6 against large L8 groups. Super inhospitable environment, some new health risks and towns don't have all services (so medicine and spare parts involve a trek).
I don't want to spoil some of the cool new stuff in that area, but that too is also insanely challenging.
I like a challenge, I do, but Ludern is a huge bump up. I need to get everyone to L7 and doing it from within Ludern seems like it will be very hard and very slow.
It's sufficiently frustrating that I am pondering going back to greener pastures to knock out a few bandit camps or do some Vertruse arena time.

Incomplete towns and a lot of walking
Packs routinely 2+ levels higher than I am
A certain new type of roving enemy
Huge roving enemy pack size
Very difficult to move around, lots of ambush choke points
A new challenging type of 'mission town'
...would be a nice change from the last zone I was in. But Ludern turns all of the above on at the same time. It's arguably too much at once.

Finished Titren and Arthas, I'm going through Vetruse now. I could count the actually challenging fights on one hand so far.
Tried that. It’s worse. First pack in Gosenberg was L9!

Agree 100%
Tiltren = steady
Arthes = you need to tiptoe a bit and pick your battles, but by the end you can take on anything there.
Vertruse = felt like Arthes all over again, but my party was more powerful -- I didn't coast but it wasn't hard.
Ludern = are you kidding mea
Bumping Vertruse (or zone 3 however they lock it) seems the missing piece. Or possibly trying out one of the weird/hard/unique things from Ludern in Vertruse instead.

If I was to give you one tip, it's choose your engagements wisely. You are beyond the point of being able to take every fight that comes your way in the swamp.
A second would be to really start to master logistics between different clan camps, understand which have what facilities (some only have a forge, some only an alchemist etc) and manage your food. By now you should be able to consistently eat meals instead of just cooked basics.
