Report a translation problem
First you need to find the pack and capture some of the wolves for him. If you still have the chains he gives you at the start of the battle you can probably capture other ghost animals for him than from that pack.
Second you go with a group of hunters to find out what he did with those ghost animals, the rest of the quest is interesting so I won't spoil it.
Still a bug though.
The bug is that the blood tracks dissappear after the first time you look at the, (or if you sell the map). That's not how any of the other hunts work. Indeed, it's not how any other quest in the whole game works - they're all frozen in time and can be started and finished at any time. There's no way that the disappearing blood tracks and the fact that any ghost pack appears to work is intended behaviour. Obvious or not, unintended behaviour is the definition of a bug.
