Is playing as a bandit feasible?
so i just started up a new game to check on being a bandit and its super lame from what i can tell. Reason being that you have to wait DAYS to be able to attack traders again. I attacked a trader and looted and then killed the guards, so 2 battles, and my suspicion is almost 300 and it drops like maybe 12 a day and thats with points put into "Artful Dodger"?! Am i missing something or is the game just not designed to play as a bandit?

Its not sustainable in the long run, to many patrols at this point

If you want to play as a bandit you have to make use of treeline cover as much as possible, don't come out of the trees except to cross a road or pop out and attack a caravan before ducking back in

Its op actually....as long as you have the krowns to pay off the guards. rob skills, scrolls, supplies till they wont let anymore...then pay off the guards for a complete decrease of suspicion. Kinda broken really....get 5 skill upgrades and a couple utility skill adds for like 80 crowns....this is really the only way to bandit tho cuz guards are to many and to fast to avoid...needs some work

you can actually continue to kill guards till doomsday..... but the limit on what you can steal is the one thing blocking you
once you hit the limit on suspicion, you cant steal anymore
plus your crimes add up, you may only steal a dead rat, but if you steal 10 dead rats from 10 different people, your fine is in the thousands and you cant possibly afford it
steal thousands of dollars of training books from one training camp and its 60 or 80 bucks

You only pay more if you have stolen items in possession tho...only steal what ur immediately going to use before guards catch you and the pay off is never a bunch. also if you stash some stolen merch in ur trading post it dosent seem to count when the guards catch ya.

There is a dedicated path for banditry and stealing I think.

There are several achievements and also a dedicated path there.
Also you can learn skills that helps you avoid the guards or reducing suspicion as also items that if equipped can make some thefts not raise suspision at times as also make it easier for your thief to pick locks.
The only thing that can get annoying is the constant running from the guards when your suspicion is max because at that point they will partially start searching around the map to find you instead of just moving on their paths. :)
In such cases though you can decide to defend yourself by attacking them and looting them or pay them if you can afford it.

I did a bandit play through, when the game was first released and it was fine it is as expected more difficult and much more fighting but entirely possible if that is the path you want to go down.

I would not do it as my first play through unless you have good experience of how this type of game works but I did not come across a fight that I could not handle.
High risk high reward play style.

Thank you all for the comments, i'll keep all this in mind when trying again. :-)

Don't go all out banditry at level 1, the guards will own you. It is only viable near late game when you have so many different ways to deny most of their attacks from ever reaching you. I've never gone full banditry before, because it is mostly not worth it. But maybe when I get all my characters to level 12, I'll give that a try...

If you're looking for the achievement 'wiping the slate clean', find a golden caravan and steal everything they have. Run away, cook all the raw food, make the rimesteel, then head into the woods. When you get caught (as long as you're not camping) just pay the guards. Suspicion drops to zero and you get the achievement.
Also, the longer you can hide with high suspicion, the more path points you can generate as well.

Wow I didn't know this. The crime path has always been so difficult to raise for me.
