Carcasses
When do you start collecting these? I know you can dry them out once you get the tanning rack. They are really heavy though so I have been hesitant to carry them around as to many easily put me into a weight issue with my inventory.

increase your team or buy more ponies specializing in weight, I have two ponies and 10 people in the team and now I have a problem with the weight :blight:

Useless imo. better to find meat and leather in killing animals. The only moment you need them is for a quest in ludern, prepare to bring the very heavy 20 carcasses for the quest.

I currently have 8 people, 3 ponies and two bears. If I hold on to the carcasses I struggle with my inventory being over the cap. I think it is 362 at the moment to me that seems pretty good for level 5-6 party. Since I don't have a lute or have found any artifacts no need to get more people until I do.

That is what I have been taking along with the teeth once I realized how heavy the carcasses are. Thanks for the heads up on the quest that requires them.

Just find a roadside shrine and dump the carcasses in there until you're ready to process them for either meat or leather. Alternatively use a container in a location that you've cleared of enemies - as long as you never completely empty it it will always be available. Both of these methods become redundant once you can build travel posts which give you unlimited storage

They can be made into leather (though you will be mostly doing that with ghost carcasses) so just treat them as a really weight inefficent food source, either eat them straight away or dont loot them in the first place.

As long as you keep stockpiling food you can have a half-dozen ponies and bears and pigs and slaves (although they run away so don't rely on them) and give them sidebag.
Meat drying rack.

Stash them there with a person assigned. They are in the processing slot for the rack not your inventory Checked loaded then in and carry weight dropped. The products are cured meat 2 per carcass and 1 grease from 2 carcasses. At one time have over 50 carcasses stacked in their processing. Twice the food value and 1/10 the weight. It processes 2 per rest. Can do fish to and get dried / cured fish plus fish oil. Useful having units of 1 food to much up totals and at negligible weight. Collect some wood steal small amounts of cloth (or targets drop) and free torch making for tombs etc.
