Game Save Stack massively slows the save menu opening
my save games start with the name "100" and I go from there.
In between I might do a 100-1, 100-2......etc if I might do small incremental decisions in my gameplay........

With that said, I noticed after having 100 through 180 or so, each time I clicked on the save button, it was taking longer and longer for the screen to open. By the time it reached 195, it felt like something was wrong and the wait time was terrible to do a quick save. The save itself went quickly after it opened.

I then was thinking.....what if???.........so I went and deleted ALL saves from 100 through 180 and amazingly that did the trick. The screen opened in a second. Just like when I first did my first save.

For some reason, each save file adds to the time it takes to open the save screen.
This should NOT be the case as there is no reason for any memory to be used or any processes to be taken up by saved games, once on drive.

This should be looked into and fixed. Not sure how many people might have hundreds of saves, but if its taking forever.....it will incrementally get worse with each new save until the devs fix this issue or just delete the older files until they do fix it.

I hope this might help some people if you are seeing this issue.....delete the much older saves.

.............. why you felt the need to have so many savefiles?

Would it surprise you to know that The Witcher 3 has a similar issue :) Only in W3 it can actually crash the game with too many save files. And it still has this issue to this day lol.

Some games use cumulative save files. And if you have multiple copies of iterative accumulation, that can become a lot of data for a program to read all at once, while at the same time doing everything else that it usually does within frame times.

So yea, definitely try to keep a max of like 3 saves i'd say.
