By the way, in camp, if you click your prisoner you can see a stats : "Chance to escape". You can bring it to 0% and never worry again.
If you keep it injured, its already -20% chance.
For each character nearby, more -20% per character.
Thats the basic.
Watchstool, or something the name, -10%.
Later there are more equipment involved in that mechanic.
Click on the chain, the idea is to have more "Positive" than "Negative" daily.
Example: Being guarded by humans and well fed = Positive. Being guarded by animals = negative.
Give him a belt with a personal cup :)
Such as? I know there belts that make prisoners carry more or produce more when working, but I haven't seen anything that changes escape chances (besides the stocks, obviously)
I've been dragging a snow creeper around for ages, and they never were able to be recruited.
I did the mission in the top left area, where you fight a guy in a castle, and someone gets kidnapped. After the creeper was there, and I clicked recruit, and they just disappeared.
as i'm sure you are aware, once you get a stock, its -100%
She had a escape chance of 20 because I made her to a second cook (already had one but since he was a journeyman level already I let him stay at the campfire and let her cook until she reached journeyman level, then kept her as my main cook).
The reason she had only a chance of escape of 20 was because I placed the cooking pot near the campfire so the companions that were sitting at the campfire was with their back exact behind her, the tent on the right side and the chest with my thief on her left side.
Giving her something to do by cooking and having companions all around her, feeding her well increased her trust faster then without these things so she asked me to recruit her.
She wears rags I created for her with 12 armour and 3 slots that gave her another 16 armor.
Also let her learn first aid so in the battles she supports the already engaged companions by either healing them or making additional damage to the enemies.
I also let her engage archers or animals herself and she is doing well.
However, everytime I have her hit a enemy that is engaged with someone else from behind, she does much more damage (in caves and infestations even more since she gets boosted in the dark) and mostly crits them on the top of that. :)
So she is far from useless but to its each own.
Only problem is prisoners can't work in the camp if they're in stocks. That seems to be their only limitation.
