I don't know if bears benefit from the support buff, but you might also stack that at the strategy table and thus reduce damage further. I tend to have the bears off solo tanking, then bring the wolf in behind them, after the armor is down for bleed on tough targets.
*I use self-sacrifice not pack on the wolf as I don't run other wolves with it.
