Does EXP scale up on adaptive mode? I mean my troops need like 2-3000 EXP for each level, yet every fight gives like 30-60 depending (I think) on enemy amount.
This is going to take forever.
I'm also level 5-6, Expert + Fixed, at something like 30-40 hours in this campaign. I've also spent almost all of my extra influence boosting EXP gains, and stopped fighting level 4's / 5's a long time ago, which means I'm consistently fighting enemies much harder than me (although ironically the game is still trivially easy), and there seems to be nothing in place to help the player catch up in levels.
At this rate the average campaign time of this game dwarfs Battle Brothers, an already extremely long game, and even probably dwarfs XCOM Long War, the longest campaign game I've played.
All while being extremely easy most of the time, and not really offering much incentive to spend 20-40 hours to get 1 or 2 levels, which don't even earn you a perk point.
I agree. I went back into the first map and found out there's an easier region. I mean I was facing groups that had almost twice the HP my guys did. Going from level 7 to 8 is a big leap because you can finally equip Rimsteel, which I've already made sets of but can't wear yet. It just takes so long to level, not to mention the amount of krowns you need to buy skill books is pretty insane. I don't know. Perhaps I just need a break from the game.
Few tips. Always keep the banner in your camp going with the XP buff as much as possible. Also get the training dummy and upgrade as quick as you can, and keep rotating mercs on it. Also be aware that ponies, animals and other critters in your band are eligible for the XP distribution after a battle. So if you are trying to level a few mercs, keep your party size trim.
Between levels 5-8+ there is a grind, which I hope they fix. But for now try to control and boost the XP as much as you can via the above.
The Banner you get while playing normally, usually unlocks soon after you've gotten your first lieutenant. A lot of passive bonuses in there that cost 100 influence.
I need 3500XP to reach Lv8, and this area is way more difficult than the previous one, I like the difficulty of the encounters, BUT to reach Lv8 I will have to do 50+ battles....
I don't even imagine how much to reach Lv9....
We are talking of 30-40hours of ONLY battles against the same enemies, are the dev totaly nuts? Who balanced this?
If i wanted to play a Korean MMORPG i wouldn't bough Wartales x)
Go for the arena and get the training dummy. Unless I am mistaken, Its moved there now.
Wait, are you saying that leaving units behind and focusing on fewer ones will give them more EXP? EXP is divided among everyone and the EXP shown is what ONE unit gets? What? I was wondering why someone would garrison units ever to the travel posts you make but if what you say is true then I see a use for them. Here I was thinking of getting as many people as possible so I could level them "all at once".
Provided you're correct of course.
Thank you for the valuable info!
Are not ponies (at least, non-combat ponies) use their own xp pool?
I have not found the dummy. Is it at the Vertuse arena? Could I fail to notice it?
Will I get more XP if I leave mercs and animals at Travel Posts? I found 3 slots for mercs, but where to leave animals? And, btw, is there a way to sell an animal?
