Attack from behind

1) How to understand if my attack is considered "from behind"? Should I be at any point of the opposite side or in the center? Is it considered opposite if the backstabber is located 0,5 m on left of right from the center of the tile?

2) Do ranged attack backstab? Do spears? Area attacks (2H)?

3) Is there any bonus of attacking from behind if the target is not engaged?

Only close combat attacks. (literally in contact).

When an enemy is engaged with your companion or ally, you can see there is a Red Arrow, showing which direction the enemy Is pointed/facing.

Behind Is just the opposite of that direction.

anything in contact from that opposite side Is good. So yes.

I think you also get a minor damage buff if you attack from the side. Nowhere near as much as a backstab but it does do more damage.

Thank you. If I perform AoE attack (2H), shoot or use spear while being adjacent and on the opposite side, will that count for backstabbing?

What counts as 'behind' has to be touching the character, that's the issue, otherwise it's considered a flanking attack.
