Please can Taverns / Inns sell Beer

Beer is needed / used in a number of the "talk" dialogue options. But currently can only be got from "Merchant Caravans" and is often hard o get as this is / was a true staple of life before the 20th century a much higher availability should be prevalent plus the game needs

You can also make all the alcohols in camp apart from the posh wine when you get the brewing equipment.

This is my frustration! Where does one go to find answers to questions like 'how does a brewer make beer? Why isn't it automatically available from a supplier like the foodstuffs?' I have stolen the beer recipe from another tavern but when I buy another cask, the ability to make and sell beer doesn't appear in the tavern's list with brandy and cider. Your help is greatly appreciated because these 'lack of information' issues are frustrating. :-(

Another question, please: Are you indicating that items purchased from merchants can be transferred from the troop's inventory into the tavern? How, please? I see that the special spices are automatically transferred, but how about the foodstuffs for the troop? In the meantime, while waiting for enlightenment, I'll return to the tavern and see if I can find something that I've missed. Thank you for your response(s).

you missed the main point of what watchzero said. he mentationed with no word the Tavern, he mentationed your CAMP. you can have a brewer profession on a merc and he can make acohol stuff during rest with a brewing casc camp item.
recipes you steal from other taverns are not only for your tavern, but for your mercs with the right profession as well (chef/brewer)

also the game seems to respect what you have in your inventory most of the time, means when you need alcohol or foodstuff for something you mostly get to need something you have enove in stock from. Torus is a good example: when you come to his lodge with around 10 carcases in your inventory, he need them to get recruited, if you dont have carcasses but some sausages or steaks (around 5-6) he will demmand that instead. mostly the demmand is only something your dont have when you have no resourcestack of that type in a proper number.
and once you visited a questgiver with such demmands the demmand is locked.

There are 2 bard songs that give Beer as payment. One can only be learned in Belerion, but they recently added a new one that can be learned on the mainland. Once you learn it, play it every time you stop by a town, and you'll be drowning in beer.

Is the beer obtained this way transferrable to the tavern?
More desirable is that the tavern makes their own beer; what is needed to enable that?
My troop's brewer cannot make beer when camped because a necessary item is lacking. What is it and how can I get it (wheat, hops, barley)?

It's the Compendium, stupid! In order to make beer in the camp and tavern, it must be active in the Compendium; and so it is with any other food or drink.
I imagine that there was a lot of snickering over this ignorance.
