Backpacks?

So I just started the game and I don't really know it, but the backpacks stay on EVER? I have done a few missions here and there, and every combat my guys have their backpacks on. It is not that much of a problem, but every time I notice it feels kind of weird and odd, and it kinda ruins the immersion. Why would I ambush a group and leave my backpack on? Or why I am assaulting a bandit camp with it? It just feels odd.

Is it like this? Or I am missing something?

they stay with them and when you level up the mercenary they change looking better also in hero inventory you have a slot for backpacks accessories which give a buff for something

I wish I could hide them like the helmets. It just feels odd, but it is what it is.

I wouldn't even know that my guys had backpacks if you hadn't of said something that's how much I care about whether they have backpacks on.. if this breaks your immersion I feel bad for you.. lol

The backpacks ain't going away, the DEV likes the backpack cause it reminds them of Lord of the Rings trekking around.

It is one of the thing DEV didn't want to compromise on. it was their inspiration for this game.
So either accept it, it isn't that backpack removal is hard, since while in CAMP all the characters do not have a backpack.

It is simply their game design, and having backpack is their fetish.

You just have to accept it. even the least backpack is a bedroll, when somebody has loafer (less carry weight).

But I really do not mind either way, but just explaining that they will not do away with the backpacks.

There is a mod that changes the look of the backpacks for all armor to not look so bulky on nexus mods. Unfortunately it currently can not be removed completely.

Yo thanks a lot, at least that model is not that intrusive. Do you know if it is save compatible? It's what I was looking for tbh.

It is save compatible, I only changed a few models.

I wasn't able to remove them completely unfortunately. My solution would be to add a new backpack model that has no 3D model, but I can't really unpack the correct files for that

Thanks for the mod brother, I tested it myself and so far so good. Appreciate your work, wish they add mod support soon.
