How do I return from the Arthes arena?

Took the piton down to the cave, found the island, fought in the arena, beat the champion, got the shield...now I'm stuck. How on earth do I return to civilization from here? I've even gone back through the cave but there seems to be no way up.

just exit the cave click on the piton again.

if path is blocked move a bit back move move to the right or left and click again, till they can pathfind the rope. if there is a way down there is always a way up.

The cave tunnel is misleading.
On Entry, there's light behind you to the left.
The next portion of the passage should logically continue to the left. But you have to click to the Right, on the Light-at-the-end-of-the-tunnel.
