Did they change the repeat? I just played it, the repeat still happens. So if the window is too short, let it go, it'll be back
Just tried it again -I'm afraid it is randomized some of the "spark" strike times are a split second delayed so it is definitely out of rhythm. Lvl 12 characters and master smithing. It is for the Highest quality gear - i iwlll try a low tier item and see if it's easier and designed this way by the devs,
Generally there is a rhythm to it but it is not totally consistent.
More tedium replacing difficulty or learnt skill in the mini game
For the highest quality superior gear you need the Swage belt tool !!!!
I don't follow you - the metal glows red before showing the white strike graphic, The order is in which the game shows. I have tested it - forging lower level gear seems easier (yes with the tool) but the higher level gear even at later levels is no longer at a consistent time sequence - as Brennan above has also noted. It's a deliberate hiccup to make forging a little more tricky.
I note that even with the tweaks 3 perfect strikes out of 4 is normal and in about 1 in 4 or 5 cases gives you a max item (for 2 stars)
I getting I'm getting 4 in 4 perfect strikes about 1 in 4
Thus I get the max about 1/3 to 1/4 the time. So mostly tolerable for wash reload and repeat
I do find that there is generally a rhythm to a "session" the problem comes on the 1st strike with a tendency to jump the strike and go early - if the first is out of rhythm / sync Just reload.
As I said earlier testing ones tolerance for tedium
What get me is the odd 3 star Item turning up sometimes these are many points better, sometimes not and no identifiable reason why it is 3 star. 3 star Rimsteel Battleplate is 1 Guard & 16 armour points better - about 10% overall. But the Rimsteel Light armour the difference is about 5 points or 4% ??
Not clue as to why from a players end. An added random chance?? but very capricious at best.
Tedium but save before trying and reload if you get your timing wrong.
I have the Swage item as a belt accessory but it only works now and again.
