2. Did someone of your companion not have 'sleepy' trait? This trait not prevent prisoner from escape, if you put him near prisoner.
3. Did you healed injury from prisoner? If yes, then you've lost additional 20% chance, to prevent him from escape.
2) No sleepy
3) I didn't
Try to surround them by putting the prisoner sitting at the campfire and putting as many others around them (hint: move/rotate some of the camp equipment around so they are surrounded as much as possible with your guys)
Before you rest, save your game. After you rest, save your game.
If you want to hold them and use them for labor, you may use animal guards.
If you want them to join, then human guards are needed.
Animals have a base tile of 3x3. One animal can overlap 2 adjacent prisoners easily. You can do this with a human, with careful placement.
just buy and build the stock, you can clip 4 prisoners at it and they cant run away than....
Wrong it does help to to stop runaways. It says in the description
...the only time it could help with prisoners is if you take a negative trait on encountering enemies at the start of the game (+10%)...then it saves you one guard.
EDIT......that value (escape ability) decreases here, so I meant 0% = no escape (successful)
Zero runaway when you use it....
If guarding is maximum, then there are no escapes.
