How to assign companion to banner?

Not sure if I am missing something right in front of me, but I cannot seem to figure it out.

It has to have a specific rank. Liutenant I think.

And you've tried to drag that liutenant on all four sides of the banner to see if it's assigned in one of them?

Select the Merc by the feet. Attach him to the base of the banner.

It took me a couple tries to get this because the assigned person only changes their stance a little to indicate assignment, unlike most other stations where it's more obvious.

You can also click on the banner to get different bonuses per day. The first time I got the banner, it took me a while to find that out.

Just note, the cost goes up if you use the same bonus a few days in a row. If you turn the bonus off for one rest, the cost goes back down.
