Each player has companions assigned to them to control (which can be reassigned whenever during play). You have exclusive control of them during combat and also a separate inventory. The 'camp chest' is on by default in co-op mode so that functions as a shared location where you can swap gear between players.
On the world map, each group of companions is moved around individually by each player. However, you have to stay on the same screen, so you cannot wander far off. If any player goes into a location or initiates a fight, everyone gets pulled in. You are mostly one group, except you can be a little separate for picking up piles of things on the world map. I personally prefer this, but if you thought everyone was going to run around individually in the same world, that is not how it works.
Combat works very well. You can see when someone has a companion selected and you can see where the movement template when they are deciding where to go. You can ping locations for other players to see what you're talking about. It works very well. Encourages discussion about what to do. The UI is very clean for a multiplayer turn based game here. You don't get a bunch of crap on your screen making it confusing.
The town interactions as far as talking to people and buying stuff work mostly fine. The only part that is slightly clunky is sometimes you'll need a specific person to click a button in the conversation/interaction. Like you need the player who has the miner profession companion to click on the ore mining area. But this is really minor.
I highly recommend the co-op, it is one of the best implementations of a strategy/rpg type game I've played.
Free to walk aroung where you want.
When someone launch a combat you take part of this.
in Combat, you need to talk because you play in order you want.
you can trade with the horse you have or the chest in the camp.
i have not a lot of gameplay hours but i see this points
