I have 4 wolves and a boar in my party. My beast master is really strong imo. Taming Arrow is very useful. In its upgraded form it gives riposte, as well as, fury . It's very useful for tanking with a wolf.
My other archer has Thrill of the Hunt and it's okay. Nothing magical, but definitely a decent increase to your ranged damage dealer.
I've been playing on easy combat mode and wish I had chosen a higher difficulty. Most combats don't last past round 2, and I'm never really put to the test. So, for me the Thrill of the Hunt rage has only built to 4 stacks and hasn't really shown dividends. But if you don't have animals in your party, Taming Arrow is useless... so I guess it just depends on your play style.
