The Wanted system is kinda ridiculous.
Patrols spot and chase after me from halfway across my screen even though their 'range of sight' is nowhere near that large or even in my direction. What's the point in having a 'range of sight' if they can just GPS and lock onto my location?

Why do forests not cut off or limit 'range of sight'? I was literally halfway across the screen in the middle of a forest while a patrol was on the road. They immediately got alerted and ran at me.

So I had a high Wanted level and thought that if I can cross the border into the nieghboring province then I could lie low there till my Wanted meter went down. No, Patrols seem to be unified no mater the region you are in. Separate regions having separate Wanted levels would really bring the realism to the game.

Patrol battles are insanely dumb. Reinforcements keep coming out of thin air. I can understand if there was a nearby Patrol on screen but no, they continue to spawn throughout the battle in large quantities.

If I'm Wanted, why am I freely welcomed into town? I can avoid patrols by staying in town. I assume lorewise these patrols come from Stormkapp? It makes no sense that such a small village can boast insane guard patrols all throughout the countryside.

Am I the only person that feels this way?:duranceleft::duranceright:
Just don't play criminal and you'll be fine 🤨
Didn't try burglarizing, but yeah. I feel you there.

It depends how high your threat is, the higher the more likely they will spot you if you are anywhere near their area. There are items in the game the lessen your threat faster and others that make you be more covered so they won't spot you as easily as they usually do.
For that when you threat drops at around 50 you might also get the message that they don't actively looking for you anymore because they have bigger threats to attend to so the patrols are turning green.

If your threat amount comes from stealing there are also items in the game that gives you a percentage of a chance that your stolen stuff won't increase the threat bar because the people you stole them from "didn't noticed" and such.

As you can see you have many different options, you just need to explore them! :)
Don't do the crime if you can't do the time. Or only steal small things when you're on your way to drop of bandits at the jail, each bandit reduces "wanted" by 20.
The crime system kind of feels like an after thought but, it is an EA game so that's not exactly surprising. The entirety of the crime system feels off honestly, there's not much to steal, what you can steal, isn't worth the level of heat you get from stealing, guard patrols are absolutely insane to fight. I mean hell, even the first crime mission requires you to kill 2 patrols.

It kind of makes no sense, like why is the criminal mission tree essentially just "be a murder hobo".

EDIT: I should note, high risk high reward for crime would be fine if there was actually a high reward, or for that matter, a modicum of ability to avoid building suspicion in the first place. Currently literally all suspicion is, is a time gate to be able to get a handful of free ♥♥♥♥.

My problem isn't being wanted by Patrols. My problem is that if I'm hidden in the forest why can Patrols see me? Or even being far behind a Patrol on a road they somehow know and chase me? Why have a sight range if it isn't used?

you are right, there should be guards in towns as well:)) i hope the devs implement this as soon as possible.

There are not too many guards, you can delivers prisoners to lower wanted stats, sleep in taverns, pay a fine to completly get rid of it(quite cheap in the endgame). It also promotes using foods that improve travel on overworld map

I like this system, i beat a maxed out guard party and it was hard but enjoyable, it's the only real challenge in the game.
You get about 4x number of guards as number of mercs in your party. i think i got 18 but the loot was nice
Do the devs even read these posts? Do they even care? As a potential customer, after reading some of the issues presented on these forums, I will definitely not buy the game until they are fixed.
