Betrayed trait removal?
I have a companion with the Betrayed trait.

How I got it: I had a wanted level and bumped into a group of guards in the woods. I was curious to see what would happen if I selected the "accuse" option. My wanted level went instantly to zero and one of my companions was sent to the local jail. I was able to visit the jail and free my companion, but they now have the "betrayed" trait.

What it does: On each rest I have -1 happiness applied. I still have a net positive and I am always capped at 15 anyway.

It has been about 20 in game days since this happened. I am wondering if there is a way to remove it or if it will just go away given enough time. I don't like having it and I am tempted to dismiss the character despite them being level 8.

Any information appreciated.

why care about it if you are always capped anyway?
i dont think he will ever forgive you for throwing him under the buss like that. im suprised he even comes back to you considering the outlaws you give the jail people ignore you after you put them in

Because every happiness you get over cap awards influence. 5 normally I believe. 5 influence every rest starts to stack up.

Only way I've seen Betrayal removed is the Drinking Buddies skill.

- You must have the skill "drinking buddies" (compendium) activated....it costs 3KP
- You have to get your companion to lvl3 in friendship with someone
- Then after the party, both of them will lose one negative skill (but you won't influence which one if they have more). you must both have some negative perk, otherwise the option won't trigger

...but the few influence points you lose are not such a tragedy
