Finally got to the { GHOST ARMOR } am i missing something ?
So i grinded my blacksmith to journeyman to get the ghost aromr.

Was SO excitied until i looked at what i could make........ Ive been buying/wearing armor 2x as good since lvl 6-8 that i bought from traders.

Am i missing something ?

Are the weapons any better than the armor ?

Even with the 3 extra tracker armor levels isnt ghost armor/weapons a step down from what the merchants sell ?

what do you declare as ghost armor? when you mean the first upgrade that needs ghost beast pelts it seems you negeleted smithing for years, because the stuff has a big "lvl 5 needed" tack on it. when you first coud make it with lvl 8 mercs something is wrong.

There are 3 tiers of craftable armor/weapons: lvl 2 equipment, level 5 equipment, and level 8 equipment. you have to craft lower tier versions to access the higher tier ones. But you're right about it not being the best armor in the game - that comes from fighting higher tier enemies (lvl 9 +) and buying it from merchants. Unfortunately that might make it harder to find the gear with multiple slots so you can add in the juicy armor layers and their bonuses. It might also make it more difficult to find the armor you want on the mercs you want it for, but until you're fighting level 10 enemies on the regular, the crafted weapons/armor are usually the best (not counting the boss/arena uniques)\
Also some of the materials required to make the highest tier equipment can be hard to come by - rimesteel, for example, requires you to get the alzahar powder stuff and grey clusters, which can be bought in gosenburg or mined by a journeyman miner, then you have to craft the rimesteel at an alchemy workshop with an experienced alchemist (don't forget to unlock the rimesteel recipie)

Im talking about all the rimesteel armor/weps.

The stuff you need a journeyman blacksmith to make.

That all seems dissapointing imo. Yes the 3 armor layer slots or circles seem nice but i havent found any to be even close to what i buy from the merchants. The merchants ive found better stuff and it has spots for armor layers. 2 so far havent found a merchant that offers a 3 hole armor but I'm mostly lvl 10 and just got a lvl 11 tank tonight in the last tomb.
Maybe the merchants will sell better items now.

I'll look again but..... still really let down when i got journeyman blacksmith,

This is why I request for crafted armor level upgrade. By Lv 11, your main goal of playing is to find enough armor/weapon for your team.

Even a traveling merchant that was not do common that sold/upgraded your armor/weps would be nice.

Or at some late game point you can apply 2 oils to a weapon.

Or some armor that when attacked applied oils to the enemy.

I understand early/mid game content is very important but after all the time this has been out they have to realize some people enjoy late game quests/goals.

They are doing a great job and i appreciate thery cant develop everything at the same time im just throwing it out there for future consideration that lare game needs some love too,

yes the blacksmithing armors are not exciting. Originally it was very difficult to level the profession. Maybe it's easier now and that's why the armors are not top-tier.
