Fire damage not easily removed just buffed up refugees to hell mode...
Title.

They're not worth that much trouble to capture anymore...

Have your alchemist craft up some Fireproof Ointment accessories and you can completely ignore burning damage.

Usually by that point I wouldn't be capturing refugees anymore. Bandits are more lucrative.

At what point? You can easily capture bandits and deserters at level 1.

That belt thing? Damn better get my swordsmen to level 8 & get the fire/poison /bleed immunity. Too much hassle.

I say pull the refugee fire tactic yourself. If fire is so OP now, equip everyone with torches and watch the world burn.

Just got the game and running into this as well, were you supposed to be able to remove fire damage by moving your character? It spreads so easily that everyone has burning status and I can't stop it lol

Yes. Fire used to be negligible unless you're engaged or stopped from moving, such as enemy getting spear walled. But now, enemies that get burned are basically burned to death since they can't get rid of fire either. However early game, anyone whose party doesn't have First Aid will have a hard time fighting refugees.

Every time I fight refugees, I have to use medicines. But every time I fight bandits, I never use medicines, just need to repair armor.

Maybe refugees need to carry less torches? For me it is not that big of a problem in the end because at one point they stop being so worth capturing. It is just the initial gold and influence.

The way fire worked was just fine before. I wish they didnt change it. Now it is just ... not fun.

Fire should be put out by rain maybe, just to make it so that it is not such a dangerous debuff at low levels.

Tbh the old fire damage was pretty negligible. Now it really feels like fire. But there are too many sources of it, and not enough ways to put them out.

Tbh right now the pikeman spear wall + fire arrow (stylish bow, I think?) combo is almost sure-kill for anything.
