New start regions

How do you unlock them? I googled it and can't find anything.

Confirming this post as having the correct answer. The quest needs to be taken and handed in the same region.

when you complete one of the first 3 regions it becomes available to start in.

yup that, and you get a ticket to open the next area. You could spend 200 gold to move to the next area but, thats a waste of 200 gold IMO

Starting region is unlocked after you hand in a bounty contract in that region's town. Ludern can't be chosen as starting region.

So handing in a single contract in a region will so it? If so that's good news since I should be able to knock 1 out in each quick.

I dunno if you mean starting in a new region or moving to one of the four new regions to start doing quests there, but.....

For now, the only region you can start in is Tiltren. However, somewhere in the (distant?) future we'll be able to start with our band of mercenairies in other regions as well.

As for starting quests in one of the other three regions;
you need to either pay 200 gold, have a border pass after completing the campaign for that region or fight some bandits to pass the gates to one of other three regions we currently got available. A fourth method is to use a few pitons and descent along some rock walls into a new region.

I literally mean when you are making new characters on the "Choose your destiny" Start region.

I know how to bypass the gates.

This is 100% what I'm talking about.

I only have Tiltren on my dragdown list. I'm trying to understand what is locking me from the other start locations. I figured something needs to trigger to allow those starts.

If there is some other way to unlock them by cheesing achievements or editing files I'd like to know.

I understand how the UI works. The other locations simply aren't present. Just like how I can pick easy/normal/hard or free/region locked for the other options. But I just got the single option for start location.

I click it, only Tiltren is there.

Dunno how that happened on your end . Sorry. Maybe try to validate the files? If it doesn't work make a bug report? I got it after a couple of downloads a couple of months back. So many unexplained ones. From your SS it looks like when I first bought this. No options to start in other regions. Mine is V.1.18185

I got the same version, Bought it this week and validated yesterday because it was lagging on load screens.

I hate games like this where information is so hard to get. I guess I'll have to bug report it.

You already got the answer.

You need to hand in one bounty in the region, to unlock it for future playthroughs.
