How do you capture animals, specifically alpha wolves?
How do you capture animals, specifically alpha wolves? I think I have 7 ropes. Is rope all that is needed? If it is rope, then how many do you need per wolf/alpha wolf? How many wolves can I capture in one engagement? I have only seen the "capture" option come up in one battle after fighting dozens of battles over the last 10 days or so. I just started a level 4 Beast-master and this is my first encounter with a wolf pack which I surprised. My Beast-master is my 20th and last planned mercenary, all the rest are level 7 with a few 6's and 5's). Suggestions?

I just searched and found a thread by Robin of Spiritwood called "Wolves" that answers a lot of questions regarding wolves specifically. Apparently it takes 1 rope to capture 1 Wolf and 3 ropes to capture an Alpha wolf. (If I knew how to post a link to her thread here, I would, but I don't, sorry.) I am still not sure of the action needed to capture animals. I assume you need to be next to the wolf and have rope in your inventory. Can any mercenary capture, or just the Beast-master? Does the wolf need to be injured?

They need to be low health, engaged with an ally, and you need 3 ropes. if the capture option hasnt appeared, you need to hurt them more. You can capture as many as you can in a single battle.

R-click, copy Page URL, and just paste it. That post is quite old, but I updated it a couple times. Will have to run it over and fix any obsolete info later.

Thanks charles, Teralitha and Robin. I am loving this game. I can't believe the depth already and I don't think I have come close to exploring all of the options.
