i was literally gonna post something about helmets too lol, yeah we need Helmets, also maybe when your team is moving on the map having weapons sheathed will have a more RP effect. Also i was gonna say maybe have your camp crafting use the supplies in the camp chest also.

good to know that Im not the only one who want helmets added to the game

We dont need helmets. They would only be cosmetic if we had them. And if they do add them, it needs to be optional.
Takichi Jul 27, 2022 @ 6:51am
they do add them its already confirmed

TBF helmets as we think of them today were pretty rare in early Anglo/Saxon England or at least as the evidence suggests, and historians have stated. This sounds insane to me. I won't even ride my bike to the store without my helmet cuz it doesn't take much blunt force to turn you into a vegetable. I got hit by a slow moving car (100% driver fault, look both ways before you turn) and smacked my helmeted head on the car. I couldn't remember what time of the year it was and I could barely move. The paramedic said I would have absolutely been dead had I not worn that helmet. (lesson to those who refuse to wear bike helmets)

I've also read that at the beginning of WW1 many troops did not wear metal helmets but cloth or leather caps. Supposedly many deaths were the results of dirt clods and rocks flying about during artillery barrages. Again this seems insane to me.

Good thing this is just a game where helmets dont matter.
Deathstruck Jul 28, 2022 @ 1:55am
It really boggles my mind how many people go through these massive mental gymnastics or pseudo historic claims in an attempt to justify the lack of helmets

Once again, the helmets are coming.
Devs literally confirmed it multiple times even on these forums, if you search around a bit. Whether they'll be cosmetic or have an actual impact on stats/gameplay - no one knows yet.

well if they put the option to hide helmets this will please everyone, think about the paladin helmet from divinity 2 that would be cool to see here with full plate armor.

Literally don't have to justify anything, seeing how devs themselves confirmed their future inclusion anyway lol

But stay mad, I guess.

Agreed. Toggle is the best middle ground for everyone. Don't want helmets? Toggle them away. ez

I did a day jump at Bragg. Last 50 feet the wind shifted and I get blown backwards instead of landing on my feet and doing the obligatory roll. (This was years ago).

Anyway, instead of landing: Feet-> Side -> Roll, I went : Boots -> Butt -> Brains. Luckily I had a Kevlar on (required) as my head impacted on a rock. I still was dazed for a couple of moments.

If I recall correctly, it was in WW1 that the English army higher brass noticed more head injuries after introducing helmets and came to the conclusion that they weren't necessary.
Of course, they forgot the fact that all those soldiers with head injuries would have been dead without the helmets, but stats are stats

The military "leadership" on both sides of that war should burn in you-know-where for their ineptitude.
