Storing Items in Containers
Hi. Okay so I will share with you how to store items in all containers in this game. You all have already came across the containers in various forms in this game be it a haypile/barrels/locked boxes etc. Thing is you can store your components/extra armor & weapons to ease your party's encumbrance. First you need an empty building or abode. My favorite is the Wealthy Farm West of Stormkapp. Do the region quest concerning this location. Then talk to the bandit leader again after the fight. You have to re enter this location to do so. Then exit. Re enter again & you will find a sack in the middle. The trick is to not empty the container. Put whatever you wanna store in first. Same items will stack. Remember there must at least be 1 item in the container for this to work.

Downside is the slots are fixed. You get what you see. Armors & weapons take 2 vertical slots like in your party inventory. So plan carefully. The great thing is all containers in places where there are no occupants can be used. If there are then the game will deem the stuff to be theirs & if you take it, you'll be the perp. Good luck, stay safe & have fun. You know who you are ;)

Well thanks but this thread was meant to some other people. They know who they are. Anyways thanks for that. Don't need it. Take it back if doable.

Do the items stay forever ? you can sell to the blackmarket or towntraders and buy back as needed when you have a excess of gold later game but they get rid of the stuff after a while and only keep some items long term

If your method is long term viable then that would be good to mass store stackable items you're building up ready to fast level a profession on a future recruit

Have you checked the items are still there after 2 or 3 months ?

Yep. You can even add more to it. Same item stacks. Especially handy when you have like tons of carcasses.

Another awesome thing about the alters are that its unlimited inventory. meaning I can scroll down and add more stuff :D not sure if its the same as empty building containers

Great tip here, thx.
Can you use chests after you've lockpicked them? The items in those chests don't count as belonging to the people occupying the location, so if you can use them too, no need to worry about the occupants of a location

I can confirm that works too, but you need to make sure to put it an item - such as a flower (which i usually do) to keep it available :D it works for houses that have occuppants with chest.

My ludern stable has all two places for storage after unlocking them using locksmith

Cannot be any chest you "steal"
