Report a translation problem
1. The unit needs to be below 50 % HP.
2. The unit needs to be engaged by one of your units.
3. The capturing unit must not be engaged.
4. The capturing unit must have it´s basic attack available, capture uses the basic attack action for the turn
It doesn´t matter what weapons your capturing unit carries, even an archer can do it (wasn´t sure about this myself, but tested it today and it works).

If you are in front of the enemy, the enemy is not engaged/you are engaged with the enemy and therefore not capable of capturing anyway ;P
Animals require multiple ropes for capturing them, with larger animals requiring more than smaller animals. I think it's 5 ropes for a bear for example. Some units such as Mosquitos and Ghost Pack animals require special tools to capture them.
