What is the largest any of you have built your company up to??
Has to be sustainable though, So you were able to play with them at that size and keep them all paid for and fed.

I'm currently at around 10-11 is all, not counting animals.

I'm at 15 Mercs & 15 Ponies. It's real easy to feed and pay them. I know many have a lot more.

Party of 20 with 11 humans, 4 ponies including Bill, 3 wolves (to get the Crit bonus) and 2 bears. Level 4-7 so far. Region locked. Just about managing to feed everyone exceot Gollum who wants fish for whatever obscure reason….

Dominant Sow?

Tuh, Pork Chop more like.

I’ve just added a Crocswine in Harad to replace the dearly departed Tim the bear who single-handedly took on a swarm in the damned cursed village
Well i am at 41 fighting mercs in my party... its no problem to pay and feed them, but scaled fights take a lot of time.
CommandDork May 2, 2022 @ 5:48am
31 for me but 27 of them actually fight. Pay isn't a problem if you keep taking on missions, so I have over 25 Krowns in the Krank.

And, ya, the battles can take a long time when the enemy patrols match me at 30 peeps.
64, 15 mercs rest level 11 animals ( 13 of them pack ponies)
The AI can't handle anything over 30, it's seal clubbing time basically
They just get in each others way all the time so although you're facing 60+ level 11's 80% of them are blocked by the other 20%
It's actually far easier to fight massive battles than 4 man battles

you don't need to feed after a hour or two of play btw Danny
Once you have the good recipes you just do one meal and that lasts the whole game
7 pack ponies with fatigue boost and apple pancake means your fatigue bar never moves
Valor is never a problem as your captain will give you 6 at the start of every battle and after that pike and archers fill the valor points to max most turns

H. Got 11 humans & 6 Alphas.

14 To 16 humans is about my max to easily manage, then just for fun maybe add 10 to 30 animals after the quests are done
This game has a steep learning curve for about 10 hours, after that you realise how to counter everything and that's when the truly awful AI begins to show it colours

I can understand how people struggle for the first game though but just like xcom after a few false starts you just steamroller everything on any mode
The AI is so bad they had to add stuff like poison swamps etc just to try and even it out a bit

But as a "seal clubbing" simulator it's still quite fun

I worked my way up to 24 mercs in region locked to figure out best tactical combinations, after that I have paired that back down to what I think is an ideal 15 guys - 3 sentinels, 1 fighter, 2 smashers, 1 berserker,2 pikes, 1 swordmaster, 2 assassins, 1 cutthroat, a beastmaster and infantryman. - this allows for numerous different attacking combinations - with the primary feature being the intent to gain galvinize as quickly as possible while also looking to get Inspiration as quickly as possible. So far over 350 hours of game play in region locked and free mode - I prefer region locked ONLY because the developers have already indicated that the purple weapons will be upgradeable in levels like our mercs. as for aminals :) well, I got bears and mosquitoes with a piglet (named hammy of course) - the nice thing about mosquitoes is they do direct health damage - just enough to facilitate capturing more prisoners to earn even more krowns. As for war ponies - none - all my ponies are baggage handlers to stock up on food stuffs and all the excess belts and other weapons - in case you missed it gaining different types of weapons works off what counties you fight guards in - Arthes yields different guard weapons compared to Tiltren, vertuse, Ludern, etc... if you like Inquisitor type higher level weapons kill guards in Arthes - if you like animal based weapons kill guards in Ludern - etc... happy hunting fella
EDIT - all that after focusing on getting guys with higher willpower - saying that don't fall into the trap of just upgrading willpower or movement instead of dex, cons, etc - the base of those stats still needs to be increased - i recommend you usually upgrade the option where ** is available - in some areas your base number in dex or str, or const, is critical - especially when in ludern. Finally - if you haven't completed Arthes tomb DONT try to get into the bucket - I reckon the developers set that up where you need an extremely high dexterity to get into it - so far everyone I know playing this game has had that bucket drop down the well - I think with a very high dexterity you might be able to keep that from happening???
