A couple of questions (Skill Mastery book and superior quality items)

1. I've got a couple of "Skill Mastery" books. In the description, it says
"Contains knowledge that will allow one of your Companions to upgrade one of their class skills. Open a character sheet to choose which skill to upgrade."
I was trying to do so but it just says "The item cannot be equipped". What character sheet do they mean? How can I use this book?

2. I am not an achievement hunter but I see one locked achievement which says "Craft an item of superior quality at forge". I already forged quite a lot of items so I think I am missing something. Usually I manage to make all 4 "plates" yellow when the character forges an item (you know what I mean), and thus I get a superior quality weapon or armor, etc. with two stars.
Since the achievement did not trigger yet, I am wondering am I doing something wrong? Is it possible to forge even better quality item or this achievement is just broken?

OPEN your Companion Character sheet and rt click on the skill, If you have a mastery book it will ask you if you want to upgrade it... you do not interact with the book itself.. if you say yes the book disappears and the skill has more damage to it.

hitting all four plates yellow does not give you an item of superior quality. if gives you a small chase to create one. you will have to forge a bunch of items before you get one superior. i think i had to do about 7-8 before i got one. just keep trying.

I'm totally lost, without an upgraded Ovation skill.

Upgraded Spearwall is fantastic. I try and upgrade all skills, before I buy extra books for First Aid etc(which I buy Black Market).

There's only one upgrade I hate, and that's for the hammer - I get poisoned every time I use it.

If you hit the anvil just as it flashes, you will get a superior grade product. Yellow means you failed and clicked too soon.

grey means fail, yellow means you hit at superior point.
if you realise you missed the sweet spot without hitting it heats up again for another try until you hit the plate btw.

I regret that I upgraded the skill for the hammer too lol
Too bad there is no preview how the upgraded skill would look like before upgrading.

ikortkin there IS an explanation to what skills evolve, you get one window with the skill explanation and right from it is a second window that explains what the upgraded version will do.
