Valour Points each fight?
Can somebody explain this a little bit better to me...

Do Valour Points reset each fight? What do they reset to?

The system makes it seem like they'll carry over, but they don't appear to and it feels like I get a random amount each time I go into a battle. Camping seems to restore them for the first fight, but not after that.

Any help!?

Valor points reset when you rest. The number of valor points that reset depend on a number of factors, such as what equipment. One of the best ways to improve your valor point pool and reset amount is to build and deploy the Camping Tent. There are also a few Knowledge Points that give you a bonus towards your VP pool. I currently have a pool of 12 VPs and restore 6 VPs every camp rest. I hope this helps.

Thanks! This is mostly how I thought it was, but it still feels like something isn't working the way I think it does. I'll finish a fight with like 8 valour points and I go into another fight immediately afterwards and I start with like 1 or none... I don't understand that...

There are two types of Valor Points. Those you earn through rest and those you earn in battle through different actions. The ones you earn in battle are only valid for that battle. They go away after the battle ends. You only keep the ones you earned through rest. A good strategy is not to deplete your rest VPs but continue to replenish and use your battle VPs during battle. Use 'em or loose 'em. :)

You can use knowlege to get maximum 11-12 valour points.
The leader (you assign it), have a skill that increase VL in battle by the number of member near him.
The lv2 skill let you fill your Valour, when engage in battle or stay by your friend side...
In you rest, build a camp, then assign 4 member to that tent, it will help fill your VL.

As people have said, there’s two types.
The dark gold/amber are the ones you keep and roll over to different battles. The others are to be used up during battle earned from abilities.

Some data to summarize what everyone said :

Starting pool > 6 VP
Max Pool > 12 VP (earned through achievements/Knowledge/Tent)

"Permanent" VP are orange, "temporary" VP are yellow (they dissapear at the end of the fight)

Each character can learn a skill to gain "temporary" VP (yellow) in battle
+ Captain can generate several temporary VP with his speacial skill (once in every battle)

Every rest in Inns provide a permament 3 VP

Every rest in camp provide a permanent 2 VP
You can assigned up to 4 people to the tent in the camp which will provide up to 4 permanent VP every rest (in camp!)
So resting in camp can provide between 2 to 6 permanent VP.

In addition :
"Glorious" trait gives you a chance to generate one temporary VP at the end of the character turn.
A rare belt item gives you 5% chance to generate one temporary VP at the end of the character turn.

So every battle you "have to" use the captain skill not too late and try to rely only on temporary VP generates by your characters. And most of all, every big fight you want to make sure you're going to battle with a full pool of "permanent" VP.

Perfect summary from Romain.

I just want to add, that because VP are so important - you have to skill wisely how your units regain VP in fight. Goal is that they generate as much VP as possible each turn, so you always have enough for heavy usage!

These responses have been so helpful! Thanks to everyone! I didn't realize there were different colored valour points, lol (I don't see colors too well). I'll pay more attention.

picking orange and yellow for the vps isn't really ideal either. i've seen far to many people not notice there's 2 different colors there

Yea, lol! Even now that i know, I can still really not see the difference, so I'm mostly trying to remember how many of my VP are yellow.

They could really use a colorblind mode, but tbh the could really use a lot more options for visuals in general

At the start of each battle you can clearly see how many VPs you have. You can build up the pool from there from actions. Use those before dipping into your reserve so you always have some for your next engagement before resting. The max I've gotten from rest is 6 VPs and I have a 12 VP pool.
