Scholar's Tale quest?

Ok, so either I've missed something, or I've found a bug - not sure.

So the lady at the southern gate is green, as I have the Scholar's Tale quest. I click on her and she says "we're counting on you, blah blah".

I have the document that shows the map of the Inquisition meetup point, but I go there, and there is nothing there. Nothing to highlight and inspect, etc. Any ideas? Maybe I've already done this part and it's just bugged. Honestly, I can't remember ... a lot of late nights with this game and I can't remember lol.

if you can´t find it there then it is a bug .. after clicking the small red patch below the inspect tooltip you should see a red track (like on hunting quests)

The bug never happened to me but I have heard from a few they had this bug (and we compared screenshots) .. but I don´t know the reason of this bug and how to prevent... maybe you are still playing a prepatch savegame?

I had this bug and I had to reload a previous save to hopefully appear. The spot is in Arthes near the beach next to Reed farm

To finish the Scholar's Tale I quest: After you've done the abbey stuff and fought the inquisitors, etc. In the County of Arthes, at the very west of the map, north of the Legion Camp and west of Reed Farm, is an object you “click to inspect” which gives you a narrative of a gathering of unknowns and a trail to follow. Following the blood trail leads you to the northwest of Lord Vernalis’ Castle and the Spring Origin cave where you encounter a group of fanatics with an eye symbol (similar to what is found on the occasional trinket). Fight them and you get a new marker on the map at the Edoranian Border Crossing.

Are there any prerequisites for the Scholar's Tale quest?
I completed the task in the whole area and it didn’t appear, nor at the pass, nor did I encounter the task of rescuing the Duke’s daughter that can be made with poisonous oil

same here, i cleared whole region i get even notification that told me i finished this in 100% but i never met lady that suppose to give me piece of puzzle (that thing suppose to start this quest line)

Yeah, there's actually a few leftover things in the game from removed quests and features.

The one you probably come across the most are company titles, you'll occasionally get pop-ups that your company has earned a title, but they reworked that entire feature into the current paths system, so there's no actual impact of the titles nor way to set them.
