Other than Torus & Hackert, what other unique companions are currently in the game?

2 girls in arthes for example .. one you can save from a pyre and one from a looters group south of cortia

Im new to game so bare/bear with me, what are the unique comps and what do they offer ?

nothing special but they have the same level as you when you find them.. and there is a quest around you have to solve to recruit them.. and recruiting doesn´t cost you money..

Usually there Willpower and constitution are above your starting party , plus they can also be recruited cause of levelscaling 1 level above max level 5 cap.

But any way what is so special about Unique Companions is that they have some small quest story line written for them. or incase of Hackert one scene with a different body at the bandit lair hideout.

or torus with the guards searching for him as the infected man !

Annoyingly enough, they don't seem to have any traits. I have had Torus since the beginning, and other than the one trait he earned through combat (Tormentor), he has nothing, while all of my other companions have 2 traits each.

Torus doesn't have any trait indeed ( Maybe he is patched or not)
Torus will gain his trait like everybody else.
Hackert infact has a random trait. aside from above higher Willpower and Con.
Same way you recruit somebody from the inn. but Hackert willpower and con scales with the AI the later you recruit him. same as Torus and others.

Can't remember for Hackert, I think I execute him each time.
But the woman you save from the fanatics in the third region also lacks a trait.

As for Torus, what I meant is that even when he does gain a trait, he never gains a second, meaning that he always has one trait less than regular party members.

But it's nice to know for the willpower and con. Does this mean that we should delay recruiting them until we're max level if we want to optimize their stats ?

Yes he does if he can gain Tormentor he can also gain Duelist.
Just the other traits for your starting companion. is cause of a mix of titles etc.. (now after the latest patch) titles are hard to gain .... infact started a new game. and they are all stuck on 1 title thus less Appitude gain, maybe if you solo stuff you still gain the Appitude bonus faster. but now for a big group of 12 man. it takes forever to get everybody a title or appitude bonus. while pre patch everybody gotten their title and appitude bonus faster.
